Which? did a Plasma and LCD test recently and recommended 2 Panasonic's followed by 2Sony's, 2 Toshibas, and 2 more Panasonics.
They included the Haanspree, but look away now if you have bought it because they said:
Hannspree JT01-32E2-000G
This ‘Don’t Buy’ basic 32-inch LCD from Hannspree has such poor picture quality, we recommend you avoid it. It’s lacking in features too.
Although it’s HD ready, this TV doesn’t feature a built-in Freeview digital tuner. A separate tuner could be connected, but this would tie up 1 of the 2 available Scart sockets. There’s no connection for headphones either.
Colours appear washed out when viewed from too acute an angle, and in standard definition the image was somewhat cropped and colour reproduction was very poor. Movement wasn’t well depicted in high definition and the overall sound, including basic dialogue, was unclean and irritating to listen to.
There were no small TVs in their test, but they didn't like this Wharfdale much either@
Wharfedale L32TA6A
This basic HD ready 32-inch LCD IDTV from Wharfedale looks like a bargain on the face of it, but in this case we think you get what you pay for – picture and sound are abysmal.
Our viewing panel had nothing good to say about this TV’s image: colours faded when viewed from too acute an angle, the pictures were over enhanced and lacked depth, and the high definition quality was disappointing.
The sound reproduction was bathroomy and described by our listening panel as an ‘abomination’. Further to this, any movement of the flex, when listening through headphones, resulted in a crackling interference.
They haven't reviewed the Vistron and I can't find out who makes it (if it is a rebadged unit) so I can't share their wisdom here.

Don't completely discount the need for freeview, especially for a second set, because the digital switchover has already started and in about 3 years time, "normal" tellies won't work any more without adding a set-top box.
