Default Starting Problem - Evo5

Started my car up today to pull it from garage to fit my indicators. It wont start afterwards now, sometimes its just clicking, sometimes its totally dead too, i checked battery leads, tapped starter with hammer etc...checked fuses, had to push it back in garage for now, any ideas before i have to start spending ? Rang EARS for starter motor price, seeing as my batterys in the boot i'm not limited to the shitty micra battery so whats the biggest battery i can get on it as it always took 5 or 6 seconds to start anyway.

just clicking sounds like a knackered battery. Have you tried jump starting it?

id say fitting some new thicker battery cables and checking/renewing all the earths is the best bet mate, seems to happen alot when batteries get relocated to the boot. id hazzard a guess itll probably be alright with that!!
