"Great minds think alike, fools seldom differ".

It was independant thought as it happened in two different heads at two different times

If someone isnt getting any more replys on their thread i think they just forget about it, they dont have a hankering to delete the lot.
I mean if everybody did that the site wouldnt be the wealth of information it is today

There's only room on this forum for one genuis, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave. Unless of course we just tell everyone I came up with the idea, and you delete your thread. Pick your options carefully.

It's a good idea though, isn't it? Would save alot of pointless threads.

Only way they will get many genuinely active mods is if they can work out how to clone Jay I reckon
(that should be easy as they have cloned superior animals to him such as dolly the sheep)

1) Stop the pointless theads such as 'vote for this girl as she wants to make her father proud by getting her chest out for a living' so shes entered a wannabee competition
2) Close the muppet room.
3) encourage technical and car based discussion rather than 'my mate like a girl' discussions.
4) Have admin and moderators with vision, your car entusiasts you should be able to decide what you think PF should be.

Personally I would like to see a more technical style discussion forum as I like learning.. it seems like Yahoo chat in here sometimes with all the not work safe threads, wanabee models, and relationship issues

What do the moderators and admin want from the forum

No need to go to the trouble of cloning.

All you need is any brother and sister, some candles, a bottle of wine and a bit of Marvin Gaye... and 9 months later.... a new Jay arrives!

Bring back Banchester, place was much more interesting. And the ammount of he people he will ban just to celebrate his return would solve the criticle errors, can 4 members posting at once cause any real problems? I think not.

If you want a radical pruning exercise, then:

Split into two GD sections (one car related, the other everything but cars). Keep the muppet room, as they wouldn't be able to cope in the real world .

But, get rid of:
Music and Car Audio discussion (can be in GD above plus there are dedicated sites for this)
Fitness and weight training (can be in GD above plus there are dedicated sites for this)
Interesting links (can be in GD above)
Computers and IT (can be in GD above plus there are dedicated sites for this)
Games Room (can be in GD plus there are dedicated sites for this)
Mens / Ladies Room (with porn being so easily accessible by the internet, it's hardly necessary that we have a room for the wankers amongst us - although I will REALLY miss JohnnyBs photos )
Contributors (never even looked at it )
TOTB forum (only really needs reinstating from April through to August, so if it is taking up space drastically needed, can be removed - although I try and keep it paired down, so it doesn't take up too much space anyway ).

this is fucking the site up aswell, if people come on this site and search for say the above but cant find what they are looking for but know it on here they will 1) put a new topic up asking where the old topic was or 2) put up another topic about the same thing thats been discused using bandwith that doesnt need to be used if the search feature was out back to how it used to be

I know this has been coverd but i just wanted my 2p

I agree, as i said above, it wont show me anything before september. I also agree, it doesnt look good if a new user tries to use search only to get no or little information.

Im pretty sure it did work properly when i first joined a couple of years ago though so fook knows whats happened to it.

that sounds about right!

Wy dont all the mods have a mad five mins where you just blits the GD room and move all the threads to relevant rooms BTW i think the little Moved Tab that you leave behind when you move a topic is a cool move!

I know for a fact it used to work as i have only been a member since 28 Dec 2006 but can still remember reading all the old Bosch man phil/Mike Goldbum/ MarkMAD / Reyland Arguments from years ago and i did use the search a lot and still get pissed off when i cant look back on topics 6 months ago that had good info that is usefull!

Personally I would like to see a more technical style discussion forum as I like learning.. it seems like Yahoo chat in here sometimes with all the not work safe threads, wanabee models, and relationship issues

What do the moderators and admin want from the forum
sounds good to me i want it to be nice and happy, so i don't have to keep shifting peoples sigs and stuff...
there is a wealth of information on here but unfortunatly finding it can sometimes be a bit of a problem...

Have to agree 100%

How many mods do you see that use this site these days ??? not many

and some of the mods we do have and use the site dont seem to do much , it always seems to be the same few who actually do anything

To many mods on here worring about upsetting mate i would think

Sorry if this sounds harsh but it is my opinion
the ones that get all of the stick are the ones that are the most proactive in removing things..
i personally don't get kick out of banning someone or shifting their sig, infact i really do not want to ban anyone.. but why should the mod team have to keep telling the same people over and over again the same things?
Agreed

Then get rid of them ,,

As said there are loads of mods on here but they dont do anything , or are scared to do anything

I think its time for mew mods myself ,,well change the ones who arnt active users and the ones who do fook all .
