Default Would this be allowed as airline hand luggage?

Going to the states at christmas for a few days - with the dollar/pound exchange rate so strong at the moment i want to pick up a turbo and management system while i'm out there...

Would i be able to carry that as hand luggage?

Will be flying business class if that makes any odds?

not too sure due to the size etc. why dont you just put it in as luggage with 'fragile' on it.

best thing to do is ask on the way there.

it's got to weigh less than a certain amount and the bag it's in has to fit into the box they test fit bags into

if you can meet these criteria then fine

don't forget you can only carry on one bag as hand luggage

i brought a t4 thru birmingham airport as hand luggage a few years ago, the look on the guys face was priceless as it passed thru the x ray machine, by the finish every fucker was over looking at it on the roller bed, he says "what the fuck is that mate", "a turbo i said", "for what a fucking truck he exclaims"

priceless

Imo it will be to heavy bud. + the yanks will probably have a fit if they see it go through the x ray machine, You are forgetting most yanks dont know what one looks like. They will think its a fancy bomb and pop a cap in your ass.

Just take less clothes then and stick it in the case on the way back. Oh and put a sticker on it saying 'Hello i am second hand.....honest' incase you get nabbed at the gate. Will make them laugh if nothing else.

I know someone who took a T4 and various other parts out to Barbados to repair a car competing in the Carnival, that was a while ago now though and things have changed.

My mum once brought back a full on oldskool Divers helmet back from LA years ago now that was funny getting through customs etc.. ha ha

Said diving helmet :

Nash

I'd open it all out there anyway to inspect it - so might be able to pass it off as second hand anyway?

Alternatively i'll just empty my case and leave my clothes in the departure lounge

Speak to Danny B

He went to America either early this year or late last and brought a turbo back the size of an A-Series engine....
