How long was their set? So long as they play "Laid To Rest", "Now You've Got Something To Die For" and "Redneck" I'm happy In fact the more played from Ashes Of The Wake the better IMO Oh and "11th Hour"

I quite like Lamb of God, but they don't quite "do it" for me. Prefer Trivium, but again, they don't have that many good songs and don't blow me away

Give me a bit of Pantera or Slayer any day!

Missed Iced Earth (fooking got there late then had to wait for peeps) which was a shame as I wouldn't have minded seeing them, but I wasn't THAT bothered.... I only went for LoG anyway....

For the life of me I can't think what song they opened with!!!! But I do remember most of the others;

Fucking awesome set tho - sound was a tad off for the first couple of songs, too loud to be honest, and cos of that it was distorted and you couldn't pick out the notes, but by third song it was spot on. And FUCK ME was there some fucking LOW bass in that! Holy shit the bass was dropping!!!! The kick drums and bass guitar were heavy as fuck and you could feel it in your chest, but there was defintely some sub bass going on there to emphasise some of it too, as when it dropped, you almost lost clear vision!!!!

In response to the other posters, obviously everyone has their own opinions and tastes, but for me personally, and I've been listening to metal for a LONG time now and heard pretty much most of it, and in MY opinion, these guys are probably the BEST fucking metal band to come out in the last 10 years! Similar to Slayer in some ways, but way better IMO...

Now I just gotta wait to 2009 when they return to these shores again!

On a side note, not having ever heard any Heaven & Hell, I was quite impressed. But fuck me, how much do they sound like Iron Maiden? I guess it's the other way round - Maiden sound like Heaven & Hell (specially Dickinson's vocal style is VERY like Dio's) but I heard Maiden first LOL... So the whole show I was thinking "they sound just like Maiden!!!" LOL

Oh and what was funny was someone was spotted smoking in the crowed second to last song, so 4 orange vested security staff waded right into the centre of the crowed to "have a word". Shame the band launched into "Black Lable" right that moment, at which point the crowed opened up a HUGE empty circle in the middle, then of course it went completely apeshit in the mosh, and these orange vested guys fucking ducked for cover and tried to get out quick as they could! Silly fuckers

I saw Trivium support Maiden at Earls Court last xmas - not bad, but not really my thing... I notice on the newer stuff he's changed his vocal style, and seems to be trying very hard to sound like James Hetfield

no he only changed for a few songs, when matt heafy (singer) started his career it was different all together.

find the song '' road runner uniter - the end'' thats what he was originally like. but it depends entirely what your oponion is.

the end is good tho. have a listen on youtube or whatever.

Arch Enemy are fucking good, had half a dozen of their tracks, then 6 months later found out the vocalist was a woman! Shit the bed!

Seen Machine Head twice - both times they were fucking superb!

Motorhead and Alice Cooper next week - thats gonna be an ear bleeder!!!!

I've seen Machine Head loads of times at different types of venue, but none of the others!

I love Arch Enemy and Trivium.

Dragonforce are a bit twiddly for my liking - but should be worth a watch anyway!
