Key Loggers
Right...
A friend of mine is having trouble with her chap... he's installed a key logger and has been using it against her to find things out..
its a sort of emotional and mental bullying.
unft she's not strong enough to stand up to him and sort it out so wants to turn the tables on him or at the very least block him from seeing what she types.
Its basically MSN conversations and passwords to facebook and email etc.
He is using SPYARSENAL
Anyone got any ideas?
Jake

TBH, in that situation I would sit there on MSN chatting to my mates about how Im considering leaving my partner as they dont trust me and log what Im doing.
Or just LEAVE HIM
Thats her best approach I should think.

if the guys sad enough to install the key logger:
a) he's probably got every reason to be paranoid
or
b) he's a psycho control freak who deserves a good talking to, and if it doesnt get through then bin the loser.

Sounds like he is jealous possessive and most of all insecure in the relationship however unfounded it is, some people can just never accept their other half having platonic friendships with members of the opposite sex

Their both to blame, him for doing all that shit to try and spy on her, and her for saying/doing things she shouldnt be.
As for the key logger, most anti virus software "should" detect the key logger as a virus, then maybe you can remove it via the anti virus programme?

And if they mates of yours just dont get involved in their squabbles, more hassle than its worth

if you want to stop it working run hijack this... this will show what applications are starting during boot up even hidden ones and allow you to disable them
This way the application is still installed but does not start when windows boots... she can easily check hes not reinstalled it with hijack this as well

Sounds like she needs a little bit of FDISK action that'll remove it
Seriously though - the options include:
Take the PC to someone who can clean it up
or
Did you know that most preinstalled versions of Windows XP typically have a blank administrator password? you can logon as Administrator by pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE twice as the 'pick your name' screen and putting Administrator in the username box. Once logged in, the world is (potentially) your oyster - lock him down to muppet mode
or
LEAVE

Sounds like they need to talk. Work together and not against each other.
If she has been talking to other blokes about him, sharing their secrets or moaning about him. Trying to hide now is not helpful.
How would you feel if it was your girl friend, probably not very good.
And if she has nothing to hide what is the problem. Don't think your realy helping the situation. Let them sort it without interference.
