On the whole he is helpful and good to have here, knows a lot, not everything, but more than most.

But like a lot of helpful people on car forums like to really hammer in how clever they think they are, and fight it to the bitter end even when they are wrong, rather than talk about things in a nice and civilised way.

Which winds people the fuck up as it makes them look like they helping just to try and be the forum big boy, which is just sad.

He's OK - sometimes you just need to read the post sllloooowwwwlllyyyy so you read it properly, and add commas where necessary. I know him, but have had to read what he's typed a few times before I've understood it. The written word is more abrasive than the spoken one - some people forget this.

And, if you disagree with what he's said, great - just means whoever asked the question and got two different answers should go get a third opinion to see which one's right - no-one's under any obligation to take the contents of a public forum as Gospel.

Besides, Volkwagen do own everything.

based on that, and nothing else, i would say then that he probablyl knows a thing or two just from being around dave, he probably radiates car stuff into other peole, but then, he seems to make a post where it may hae been fine when someone like dave did it, because he's smart and the like, but the explanation tab gives sort of spirales into a bit of someone who hasn't quite got the full understanding of how things work
