You really dont understand what ALS does and the difference between LAG and boost threshold do you mate
ALS or nitrous even transforms how a car drives, but not because it makes you come on boost at 0rpm.
Theres a lot more to fun driving than boost threshold, ALS dont really affect that.

And of course everyone would like power from 0rpm, but spending thousands just to get more low down when you already have good power from 3500 isnt exactly money well spent.

Well no i Obviously don’t so why don’t you educate me instead of talking to me like im some sort of retarded cunt when my first post on this topic was "I don’t pretend to know everything" and when radders stuck up his turbo spec i said "i just come to ask questions" instead of telling me i should learn to rev my car and because me everyday car is quiet im subconsciously worried about the sound of my exhaust!

when you mentioned about the TT YB at the beginning of the topic i was genuinely interested and did ask if you had any info with no reply but as chip suggested a different method for what i was looking for i was only being curious as to if and how it would work and at the end of the day if progressing 100BHP shot of nos into my engine makes it feel more responsive low down then at least its an option that i now know about

Ben,
Over the next few weeks, Harvey will be testing a trick new roller-bearing turbo that is similar in size / flow as a T38, but should be capable of good torque (which the T38 isn't). This should give a MUCH better boost threshold than your current turbo AND make 460ish bhp (so would easily max out your grey injectors at 440bhp). It can also take mild ALS .

Ava have done 2 twin turbo YBs of a different nature to each other. Both using different sized turbos to get low down grunt. One sequential and one staged from what i remember.

Surely u just need to turbo an M3 to get that Euan?

3.2 litres - reasonable sized turbo for 600 atw.. whatever that would be... reasonable lag cos of 3.2 litres.

bah... anyone got a spare 10k?! (or should that be 20 to 30 lol)

The big problem on the M3 for a 700bhp+ turbo like that is finding somewhere to fit it without melthing anything I reckon

500bhp supercharged one would be quicker where you are interested in anyway though steven and could be done for 10K im sure!

people seem to think ALS will make a turbo spool up from idle..?

it wont, but once the turbo is in its boost threshold, ie on boost, ALS will keep it on boost.

using nitrous as ALS is ideal as it can be used from idle, but it runs out eventually...

the easiest way to twin charge it would be to thro the YB in the bin, and fit a skyling GTR engine!

i say easy, that will still be a cunt to do too lol

saying that, you then have the reyland skyline box conversion too lol

depends how instant you want the power etc though. if you want a punchy fun almost n/a feeling motor much more than 600ATW wont be that easy.

dont agree with that bit about a 500bhp supercharged one being quicker. drivability with a turbo capable of that power with 3.2litres would be mint if specced right, so unless the car was seriously traction limited, the turbo would romp it.

ive seen 3litres on modern 700bhp+ turbos giving 400bhp+ at about 3500rpm

I get what you are saying mate.

Personally I dont think any proper high power turbo car has a N/A feel, certainly none I have been in.

I was just basing my thoughts on my car and if it was over a 3 litre I reckon it would easily make 600 ATW.

You can never guess tho can you

Talking about intresting turbo cars I might have one that you would like to feature in Redline...Ill pm you
