You can pee in a shower too And if you get a shower with a big enough plug hole, you can shit in it too - French style All in one

Then free up the rest of the bathroom for a couch, a wall mounted TV and wireless internet - a mans refuge if you will

Must be the time of year for it... also looking at new bathrooms.

Like the idea of a walk in in shower but don't really want to be without a bath... love a good long soak in a bubble bath now and again (also find it hard to shave my legs in the shower )

Looking forward to people putting pics up too for some ideas

www.plumbworld.com are doing a really good deal on a walk in shower cubicle just now.

My GF bought one for our bathroom (2 days after i finished tiling it around the old bath), it gets delivered and it doesnt fit in the bathroom

So make sure you measure it first

Fitting a 1200 x 1000 walk in shower, downlit with Mira thermostatic mixer.

1600 x 1600 corner bath.

Crome towel rail to ceiling

Half tiled walls, full tiled floor with Underfloor heating.

Etc etc.. yada yada...

It looks like Beruit at the moment.

Stu: I was on holiday while they fixed my bathroom and got back to Beirut since they never covered up the door to the other rooms with plastic ie I had concrete dust all over my apartment.

Our Bathroom is 4 metres long, by 1.8 metres wide.

We have a 1200x900 walk-in shower, using a Kaldewei steel tray that is flush with the floor. We have a massive Hansgrohe rain type shower-head and a thermostatic mixer.

The bath is a 1900x800 double-ended (fnar fnar!!) Oval one, boxed in.

It's seen there in the temporary enclosure that I built with a tiled top. We are now having a custom-made painted glass top made for the Bath enclosure, will post pics when thats done, in the next couple of weeks. It's costing over £700!!

We are also having a glass top made for this basin unit.

The whole bathroom is tiled up to the ceiling in 600mmx300mm Gloss white tiles with narrow grout-line. The floor is tiled with Black Porcelain tiles that look like natural stone and we have underfloor heating. I have never come across anything that was as hard to cut as those tiles. Thank god not many holes were needed as most pipes are recessed into the wall.

There are 10 GU10 style 35w Halogen lights as I wanted a clean/clinical look, but we will add a dimmer soon as we don't always want it that bright in there!!

The mirror is a huge one, again, custom made. Proportional in size and shape to the bath. I regret not making it heated. I definately recommend that, its inexpensive.

It has been an unfinished project for some time now, but its been a good thing as we have been able to use it, find out what works and make changes. For example, the tiled bath enclosure is highly impractical, the grout lines on the horizontal surface just get grubby. It is also too high. So, I am now rebuilding it, lowering it by around 70mm and adding the glass top. I plan to do something with the side-panels too, like add recesses for storing towels and low-level vents as the twin-extractors remove so much air from the bathroom that it is difficult to shut the door!!

Heres a little bit of my handywork.....

Everything was unconventional and hard to do. I won't bore you with the details, but it was a challenge.

Oh, one more thing, we did all this work whilst living in the house, so every day I had to make sure that we had running water, a toilet and a bath. This made the process 10 times harder.

At one time, we had 2 baths in there and you had to step over one to get to the other and the toilet balanced on a small square of chipboard with the rest of the floor up!!

I have just done our bathroom. When we got the hosue a few weeks ago i ripped everything out and wanted a shower cubical instaed of a bath. It is the smallest bathroom in the world and i thought it would give us more floor space. But the mrs wouldn't budge on the idea, and therefore we still have a bath!! ha ha

Here's a few pictures of it.......

Sorry i haven't got the new bath panel on yet! ha

As you can see the door to the bathroom opens out it's that small!! ha

I put the underfloor heating in and re tiled the floor and walls etc.....

I must admit the underfloor heating was a quailty buy!! i would advise it for everyone. Bit of a pain getting the extra supply there for it but well worth it!

Summer is over. Cold weather is here. So it's a project.

And while I'm here, we're looking into improving our bathroom too.

Toilet in small room and next door is bathroom. All ORANGE! It was done by the previous owner of this house. Yuk. And we had to put up with it for over a year while we're saving up (well spending money on other stuff like new driveway, porch improvements, etc etc) but the bathroom is deffo next (well after the fence/garden work lol)

Our plan is to knock down the wall (partition wall), move the bath round and fit a new shower in the corner.

Currently designing & costing up the project.

Anyone use any online stores where you buy bathroom stuff cheaply?

I've just completed ours.

There was only room for a bath, toilet and basin, so I bought one of those shower baths. What an ace bath it is too. It's a 1700 long one from Bathstore.
It gives the best of both worlds. Although, if I had the room, I'd have a walk in shower, as I grew up with one in my mum's house.

I've yet to get the pics of the new one on the computer, but you can search for the baths on the net.

Thank you.

The only person we paid in the bathroom project in terms of labour was the Plasterer to do the Ceiling.

The spec list/prices are scary, £700 crops up an awful lot, but when you think what a Bathroom like that would have cost from someone like Porcelanosa it makes the hard work all worth it.

You can do it people!! I'm just a salesman!!

@ foreigneRS - That puke pot is ace. You could take a shit in that too I bet. Handles look perfectly placed to get a real grunt on, just wonder if it could take the weight.
