nice tip, my mondeo has an arrow pointing to the right, and the bird's fiesta has an arrow pointing to the left

It's not which side the fuel sign is on... it's the small arrow head next to the fuel sign which indicates it. Not all cars have it though. Both my Evo and Fiesta have it.

exactly. most cars seem to have the filler on the drivers side nowadays and sometimes theres queues of cars waiting for the right sided pumps whilst the left side pumps remain unused. i jump into the unused pumps and pull the hose over my car to fill up as the pumps are designed for this leading to several drivers then following suit

No, no ,no. The amount of people I've seen dragging a fuel hose over their boot or roof to reach the other side
