The blocks are the same on all the fixing points on the 2 litre DOHC and the 2.3 16 Valve

the fronts just bolt on
but why bother?
just use the normal twinky box from a sierra as it's a direct bolt on fit
the differences are in the flywheel and clutch side of things as the 2.3 uses a 241 mm clutch, and you need a manual flywheel for that
you can do with the normal twinky flywheel but this only goes up to the 220mm size
plus the clutch is a totaly different shape on the 2.3 to what you are used to (i've got one in the garage taking up space so imight put some pics up if it stops raining)

Thread resurrection warning!
Dojj mate - you're forgetting the starter motor location. They're on opposite sides.
Sierra is on the passenger side, Scorp 2.3 is on the drivers. I'm pretty sure the starter wont fit if you use a Sierra MT75 on the back of a 2.3 with the original 2.3 sump in place because the cast-in "dent" on the sump is in the wrong place and you won't get the starter lined up for getting the bolts in
I guess the way around that is to start grinding chunks off the 2.3 sump (which I don't know will work as there's quite a difference between the two sides) or loose the 2.3 sump and balancers and fit a Sierra 2.0 sump - which in itself isn't a hard job.

Are you on about the 2.0 8v or the 2.3 there mate?
The 2.3 has the starter on the same side irrespective of whether manual or auto as far as I can tell - last time I looked Microcat listed only one part number for the balancer housing / sump in the UK.

Ah - but mine was sheer genius involving a hacksaw, a spare twinky block and half a tube of locktite flange sealer, none of this CNC-machined malarchy - that's faaaar too professional for a back-yard engine build.

Ah it'll be a while to be honest - crank needs a light regrind to take the mains down to one common size (not the three distinct sizes they are across it's length at the moment!), then I need to get all the bits to put it back together without Mrs Crust noticing the credit card bill - never mind the time to spanner it all up "on the sly" wedged inbetween family stuff.
*and* not to forget I need to get my finger out and get that Megasquirt build finished and tested in the current one before I can pull it out to think about replacement.
I only need to get the lambda boss welded into the exhaust manifold but it was such a sod to get the manifold in past the ABS block and wot-not in the first place that I'm really not looking forward to pulling it out, then putting it back in again......
Motivation mate - that's what I need. Doesn't help that I'm still tooin' and froin' about which one to keep: GLX-in-mint-condition or Ghia-in-less-than-perfect-nick.

Just in case any one is interested, the block in the pics above is now for sale. (It's not mine anymore so this is not a for sale post!)
It comes with mint crank, forged steel Arrow rods and forged low compression JE custom pistons 8.0:1CR IIRC
With a decent 16 valve head it made over 300 bhp at just 10psi
The guy wants just £800 for it.
