I just ordered a Dell after looking about everywhere. Good basic lappy at good prices if it's just a basic one you want.

Cool!! Bloody good prices they are!

What does this mean when they say it is refurbished?! does that mean they are second hand?

Might have just been an opened box, or ex display.

But I'd get at least 1GB RAM if your using Vista

(That's why the dell link i gave you is good - you can still opt for Windows XP Pro - less resource hungry )

well i just called dell, and it DOES support normal home wireless technology!

Warley - when you go into the spec options you can change it to vista home edition!

I went in to build the bloody thing, chose all my options, went to press go... and my friggin works pc wouldnt let me go any further!!! it blocked the bloody site now!

The good thing about getting the Vostro from Dell, is theres a years next day business turnround as it's classed as a "Business" laptop

I'd recommend Dell personally, ALL of our work's kit is Dell, from high end servers down to laptops and some desktops. Granted we are a business with NBD support on laptops, but the service is spot on, things will either get replaced next day or engineer on site with parts

I'd buy a Dell for personal use too.

Dell are pretty good, even though I cant get mine to connect to the internet .....

Here you go Maria ...blondes aren't always stupid:

I urgently needed a few days off work, but I knew the Boss would notallow me to take leave. I thought that maybe if I acted "CRAZY" then he would tell me to take a few days off.

So I hung upside down on the ceiling and made funny noises. My co-worker (who's blonde) asked me what I was doing. I told her that I waspretending to be a light bulb so that the Boss would think I was "CRAZY" and give me a few days off.

A few minutes later the Boss came into the office and asked "What are you doing?" I told him I was a light bulb.

He said, "You are clearly stressed out. Go home and recuperate for acouple of days." I jumped down and walked out of the office.

When my co-worker (the blonde) followed me, the Boss asked her "...And where do you think you're going?"

(You're gonna love this.....)

She said, "I'm going home too, I can't work in the dark
