I'd say if the first guy hasn't got a deposit on it then it's still for sale. £100 is £100, and also means you ain't got to MoT it and it goes straightaway.....

Agreed.

"Genuine" buyers often end up buying something else instead.
Until you have seen some cash, I wouldnt take for granted its sold.

Whenever you arrange for someone to come and pick it up, unless they give you cash then make it clear that the deal is only if it hasnt already sold by then.

How would you feel if you were person No 1 - would you like it?

Principles over greediness.... I'd stick to principles any day and have a clear conscience and not be thought of as a greedy c**t.

tell bidder number 2 that if the car is there on monday morning without having been paid for in full, or arramgements made to that end, then he can come and get it, but until then it has provisionaly been sold to bidder number 1

if he's so desperate for teh car then he'll wait

then again, if both bidders have seen that you are a man with questionable scruples, they may both decide to back out and you would be where you are now, worrying about nothing

I know you'll do the right thing Pete

Definetly the right thing to do. £100 doesn't amount to a set of boost hoses. SO no reason to lose your reputation over it.

Cheers

Honour what you said mate

I myself have been took by something similar recently by someone on here and i was very pissed off....

The guy had something up for sale. I mailed him and asked what he wanted. He told me a price and i said YES, i will have them. 10 minutes later he mailed me back and said someone else had offered more money and he is selling them to him........

Now if the guy had asked for offers i would of given him good money, but HE told ME what HE wanted and i said yes....

Missed out on the England game at Wembley because of it

i wonder what your attitude would be towards the 1st buyer if he didnt turn up?

everyone would forget about it soon enough.

yet in this situation people would start a witch hunt against the seller just beacuse someone wants to buy his car for 100 more.

FUCK the first buyer...MONEY TALKS.

the amount of times ive heard of a 'guaranteed buyer' falling through means that whoever turns up at my door with the money gets the keys.

Agreed !!

I always go on the assumption that something is never sold until the cash is in my hands, been let down so may times by someone saying yes for sure they will have it then never turning up.

The first person to turn up and put the pound notes in my hands gets it, regardless of what anyone has said about def buying it or coming to see it etc etc !! Far to many messers and dreamers out there these days.

but i kept my word and let it go for 350

if i needed 100 quid that bad i would stay in on friday and get a chinese and sell the car to the first man

find is sick the amont of people who screw people over for a few quid,, so much so i NOW only loan money to people i wish would stop bothering me so they avoid me

why not ring the 1st bloke up and tell him u have someone who is very interested in the car and wants to look at it this evening!
if he is that keen he should say something along the lines that he will come and have a look now!!

i know i would if i were in that situation and didnt want to lose out on the car.

As people have said theres been no deposit left on it, if buyer 2 is genuine let him come and have a look at it.. he is offering you more for that privledge!!

Just let buyer 1 know first!!
