Still cant work out what engines they running.

The landcruiser ones are obvious, but the 6cyls with the turbo on the other side that most the Patrols have i dont know.

CAS like an RB, twincam 6cyl like an RB, turbo on the same side as an RB, but looks like no RB ive ever seen.

Old Patrols came with single cam non turbo RB30s as standard so any other RB bolts straight in, but like said, looks like no RB ive ever seen.

Not a 1J or 2J totoya lump as they got the exhaust on other side, just like the landcruiser lump.

Turns out the engine is one id never heard of, and allegedly developed from the RB.

TB48DE, 4.8litre 24valve straight 6, been around since about 2002.

And then they turbo em.
