Default WRC cosworth 200 block

does anyone know the correct info and price for the wrc 200 cosworth block ?
As far as i know the one i have seen has no oil filter mounting on the actual block itself, and instead uses a inline oil filter system with aeroquip piping screwed into block where the oil goes through up and around into the oil filter and back. Also uses alloy blocks to correctly mount in saphhire engine bay.

anyone know of these and what kind of power are they good for etc?

cheers

This is the same as the block im using for my new build, running a remote oil filter housing and oil cooler. It takes from the front of the block and returns to the front and rear giving better oil pressure to the rear spray jets i think. Sorry not got any picks or a price but the machining to the block is pritty impressive.

The proper WRC block is massivley different to standrard....they are de-stressed and all excess material removed.

The engine mount fixing points are machined back 12mm and enlarged to M10. The WRC mounts to the the shell are different, even from the grp'a' versions, hot side on a wrc car is steel, cold side is ally, mainly for clearance issues with the WRC manifold and larger diff.

The oil filter section is machined away and plugged fitting made to the external oil filter- cooler

Most have nickasil liners fitted, although I have seen 1 or two without initially....

The one in the pic has the sump for th 8.5" diff fitted with a WRC breather....cost wise i'd say you were looking at about £3k

thats the block i have fitted to my 2wd cossie, had alot of money spent on it.

Its good then i take it for 500bhp plus build?

its longstudded, wrc headgasket, bd10 and 14 cams, ported and flowed head, isky valve spraings, 7.2.1 compression ratio, don't know what pistons are fitted though , but the crank complete bottom end is lightened balanced etc, wire rung aswell, ap 6 paddle clutch system which is a pig to drive with.
currently uses t35 turbo with .63 housing

Just want to know where to go with the engine.

What would you do for 500-600bhp build

any advice greatly appreciated

Sounds like a good spec a GT30 with external gate would be a good choice or a T4 for around 500 and can be pushed to near 600 like rapidcossie has.

its in my everyday cossie but i am in the middle of collecting pieces and parts for a s1 rs turbo 4x4 cosworth using this engine in it and mag feature aswell.
Should be a right toy
I think 500bhp in a mk3 escort shell should be fine, whatcha think?

Sounds like i got a better deal than i thought when i got all the bits from Dumped's engine, knew the block had extra oil jets, and few other bits but never knew the block was that price new.

1700 quid is actually not too bad for a bullet proof block IMO

I think the liners and spray jets are extra. £1700 is for the bare block with the extra machining for long studs, oil jets and the oil filter.

In total with all the ancilliaries you are looking about 3K for the block complete then extra for the nikasil liners...but the block in my pic is a genuine block out of boreham and i'd say there was at least a week in machining in it I think you'll find there is no exact spec for the mountune item as such prices like the one shown on there website are insignificant when your building a 10 - 12K engine/ecu package..

need to check if my block has been fitted with liners, is it possible to tell by removing sump or is it head off?

should be leathal at 500bhp in a mk3 escort shell converted to 4x4 cosworth.

What do folks think then for power to weight? want it to be a proper tool. need to speak to steve scott to fabricate my shell
