a friend showed me a link to a 1.8 escort si ghia, anyway on the engine pic its got 1.8 litre 105 injection and on the engine cover "DOHC" which mine doesnt, i thought it would be the 1.8 zetec like my GTi?

Some had DOHC, some didnt! Simple as (well as simple as Ford get,lol)

 

The actual engines the same btw. Just the covers different

 

no it aint because it says 105, the GTi aint 105 mate

 

different power outputs, can get 105bhp which were older one i think and xr, 115bhp like your gti, and 130 which were in some xr's and convertables i think.

Me and my housemate both had Mk6 Si back in 97, and both were 105 engines.

They used a lot of leftover engines from the Mk5 facelift stuff, before making them 115s like the GTi around the late N reg.
