Explain to me from any point in that video did she cause or is to blame for that accident? She's not trying to race the evo's just keep out their way while being lapped, i know normally accidents happen racing and its upto each driver to pay for their own damage but If you were in a race series where all entrants were private run cars and someone hit your car while you were off the racing line would you be happy to foot the bill for repairs to your own car even tho you have done nothing wrong on track?

I feel sorry for the both of them and but the lady has to miss out the rest of the race series or find the funds to repair someone elses mistake? Thats why i think she should be compensated, she was trying to do the evo's a favour!

Its not about blame....accidents happen in racing they both enter the race knowing that and wouldnt expect to have to recompense anybody for damage caused....

Would you say the same if she had done the same to him and done Ł50k of damage.......because it was her fault

You enter a race knowing the consequences of a crash, if you dont like it, dont race

If a ferarri rams a spyker off in the next gp, will spyker whinge to the fia to get ferarri to pay for a new car

So?

It's entriely irrelevant whether she was getting out the way or not.

Yes, it wasn't her fault, but this is a race series.

Anyone that thinks she should be 'entitled' to some form of compensation is a thick cunt

Alot of people seem very quick to judge Simon, l have spoke to him a fair few times and the bloke is a very decent guy. It was a racing accident Simon has said what he has to say on the matter and fair play to him, if he does not have an issue with what happen then why is it worrying so many people here !!!!!

Maybe people haven't bothered to read this reply from earlier in this thread..

Firstly Simon, How are you feeling today? Hope your ok?

Secondly, Can we please stop pointing the blame? It was a racing incident and we both walked away, surely that is more important than who's fault it was. Don't get me wrong I could've done without a repair bill as this is my first session (Obviously a lot of money went into to getting the car ready) but whats done is done, now we need to sort the cars out and get ready for next season.
Simon has generously offered money if CC say it was his fault. Most people wouldn't have bothered cos thats racing. Unfortunatly the damage to my car isn't just cosmetic. It needs a new rear beam and there is damage to the wishbones and drop link arms, also the front chassis leg may be bent. It could be a case of buying a new car but that is for me to deal with.

I'm sure Simon feels bad enough already without you lot hammering on about it. If anyone has the right to be shouting about this whole incident its me and as you can see i'm not so can we please drop it.

Thanks Chrissy

Of course she's not entitled to ANY money towards repairs due to it being a race obviously, so i think the guy deserves a big pat on the back for offering some money towards the damage when he doesnt have to give her a penny. I would do the same if i caused that accident, and in fact id probably feel so bad and end up paying for the lot, which is why you wouldnt find me competing in any organised race as it may become a tad expensive for me. He obviously feels bad about the ACCIDENT and has good morals, but if he decides to pay a grand towards every car he hits in a race, then maybe the race track my not be the best place to be in fairness. Although maybe this 'compensation' for accidents actually happens more than we think in ametuer racing, who knows. Fair play though either way in my opinion.

Big surprise? They happen every day in every race.

F1 - Touring cars - saloon champs - bike racing - rallying - rally cross and so on and on and on.

Please get back to having a go at each other over nothing rather than a crash on a race track.

Anyone want to argue about any other crashes they have seen recently?

lol.

Seriously, how can the justfiy putting a 106 in the same race as 400bhp evo's? What are they thinking? Thats just madness and the organisers need to sort this out for a start, then maybe they can avoid something like this happening again, as next time it could be people that are wrote off and not just metal.

I certainly think the organisers should accept 50% of the blame at least.
