Not true mate, alcohol lowers testosterone levels & raises estrogen levels for several days after a sesh..........not what you want when trying to build muscle!

True, you have about an hour window when you body will absorb more nutrients, if you not going to eat soon after training then get a protein drink inside you, plus some carbs

Also take some protein before you go to bed. Most people forget this but when asleep its the bodies longest time without nutrient intake!

As already said, low reps build size. Max out on 6-10 rep sets. Defo no more than 10. But 4-5 is good for a few sets, I try to combine the two.

Eat small and often. I cant remember the exact amount but your body can only absorb about 30gr (est) of protein in the hour. Protein is what your muscles build on but if you have a high metabolism then you need the carbs too as you body will burn them up quickly and then turn to the muscles for its next source of energy.

Training is a personal thing, paul has sais he trains 3 times a week max. I find personally that i cant hit two bodyparts hard enough in one session so I go five times for 1-1.5hrs a go. You need to find what works for you. Rest & feeding the muscles is a bigger part than the training.

i used the shakes before and after i trained and also used to use creatine caps , i think they are supposed to make your muscles recover quicker after training. But all this stuff is quite expensive .

I follow the old Mike Mentzer and Dorian Yates philospohy which states "you can sit there tapping a stick of dynamite all day and it won't go off, but hit it once and hard then watch out!" I.e I don't do a lot of sets, I don't pyramid, just warm up then do one big set and then move onto the next exercise. The big set will probably be a drop set though, i.e go to failure then remove some weight repeating until about 50% of the original weight. You could argue that this is pyramiding but on a much faster scale as there is no rest, only the time it takes to remove the weights.

Training is a very personal thing though Lewis, so if you stick with it you'll eventually find what works for you. By all means copy other people, but listen to your body and if it's not working try a different approach.
