Glenn Suckling's Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R has been at the forefront of the import drag racing community for a number of years now.
The GDS Motorsport / Mag & Turbo Warehouse Skyline hit the scene running with 8-second passes all over the show, and has since run at an 8.02 @ 281kph.
Unfortunately, as is the case, all good things must come to an end, and so is Glenn's time with the car he built from the ground up. While sad news, it does mean that one lucky bugger out there has the oppertunity to get a hold of this angry machine.
The engine in the car has only run 8 passes since its rebuild. Every single pass being low 8 second passes excluding one.
The engine currently has:
A Nissan RRR engine block modified by GDS Motorsport
A Trust 2.7 litre stroker crank, rods and pistons also modified by GDS Motorsport
The engine is dry sumped with a Peterson 4 stage dry sump system
The cylinder head is modified by GDS Motorsport with Tomei cam shafts, valve springs & cam cap studs etc.
The engine has a full Trust stud kit
In the current guise the engine is producing 1417hp with 961 lbft of torque
The engine is currently tuned on VP M1 Methanol
It uses 1 SX fuel pump as a primer pump and has an Aeromotive mechanical fuel pump running off the front of the engine with an Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and -12 fuel lines.
It runs 2 fuel rails and 12x1550cc fuel injectors.
The car runs a HKS T51R SPL BB turbocharger with bellmouth and carbon air intake system. It also runs an HKS 60mm external wastegate. The boost is controlled through the Motec engine management system.
The car runs custom driveshafts and axles throughout.
It also has a Holinger sequential 6 speed gearbox with custom GDS Motorsport ratios which is also modified in conjunction with Holinger. In its current guise it is 5 speed.
The gear lever has an integrated NZD$2000 Bosch load cell which is programmed through the Motec ECU for flat change.
Both front and rear LSD units are Cusco and also the spare engine has its own Cusco LSD unit fitted.
The bonnet, bumper undertray, interior panels, dash, headlights and boot lid are all carbon.
The car has polycarbonate windows throughout and last time the car was weighed it was 1036kg.
The front bumper and doors are fibreglass and there is a spare fibreglass bootlid.
The car has a Motec ADL dash logger with 1MB of logging
Motec M800 ECU with advanced functions enabled and duel lambda enabled
Motec CDI-8 capacitor discharge ignition system
Motec E888 expander unit running 6 exhaust pyros
All these systems are linked together through a can bus and can talk to each other.
The 4WD system is mechanical in design by GDS Motorsport. The 4WD pressure is displayed on the race screen of the ADL dash logger.
The clutch in the car is a Tilton carbon triple plate. This clutch is quite special. It has 3 lives. It is currently on its first life as I sent the clutch back prior to this season to be rebuilt in the States. I personally get two seasons out of one life.
Also there is a brand new spare flywheel and Tilton triple plate (sinted bronze) clutch which has been balanced to both engines.
The car has 6 Bogart rims and Mickey Thompson drag slicks.
The car has 8mm Wilwood brake discs with custom alloy hats and billet front Wilwood dynalite calipers and factory Nissan calipers on the rear.
Also the car has a Simpson parachute.
The list goes on and on.
Please find below a list of spare parts being sold with the car to correspond with the attached photos.
