Taken the cossie of the road now for winter , what i would like to
know is a bad idea to cover up the car and leave
it for say 6 months in a normal garage? it can get pretty cold i guess so
is it a bad idea to leave a carcover on it? or leave it off?
Dont really want the cover getting dampish on my new
paintjob dont know what to do
any advise would be great

Ad, have you thought about investing in a carcoon? it get's pretty damp in garages even if you don't think it and with the carcoon atleast it'll keep it nice and dry, don't know about the cost of them though..
I know Jim used to store the Saff for 6 months or so, drop him a PM....

If you dont want to shell out on a carcoon, then go for a breathable indoor cover.
By the way, the salt is a good short term method to draw the moisture from the air, but for 6 months i think it would be very minimal to be honest. Excellent for the interiors though.![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Also regarding the carcoon, ask them for an ex-demo to save some cash.

a decent indoor breathable cover will keep the moisture off ,i got an hamilton classics one cost about 90 quid
get a few dehumidifiers in your garage like these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DEHUMIDIFIER-D...QQcmdZViewItem
should help get the moisture out the air

Dont use a car cover mate if its been painted recently, my mate did this to his Mk2 RS2000 and made a real mess of the paintwork as seemed to draw moisture out from under the paint and went all bubbly like an aero !!!!
Might have been something to do with the paintjob but would still be wary of covering the car just in case !!
