Default bd16 and bd14 with t34?

ok got a question

i got all my head back on ast night for the car to last about 10 miles before a serious misfire and lost all power i just made it home

found out that 1 and 2 are full of oil and the gasket is leaking from front corner

so now im going to get my engine built but

i want to spec it for around 450-500bhp but it will still be on greens and t34 for the time being untila later date when i can get the injectors and turbo

so was wondering what it would drive like with bd16 and 14 cams in with a t34

obviously the engine will be low comp with pocketed pistons all balanced and the head will be ported etc

any ideas or should i just run std cams

It will be horribly laggy without any top end.

For 450bhp you dont need a BD14/16 anyway, why have you gone for those cams???

Just run the standard cams for now definately, and seek advice on the cams for 450bhp as I think you have gone too hot, especially on the exhaust side

the block is getting long studded aswell and new everything bar turbo

i dont mind a bit of lag tbh

Who is mapping it for you with the T34?

Ask them, but I would be surprised if they tell you to fit those cams, especially the exhaust one!

dont know who is mapping it yet either stu or karl

but as i said i would like the engine specced for good power but not used until a later date

and thought the cams would be wise to fit in while the engine is outm but now thinking they can be done anytime lol

also a question iskys ive heard you need the head machining to fit them, but is it the hea dor just the spring platfroms that the springs sit on?

Well you COULDN'T be anymore unsure..

If you feel like that then i'd advise against spending lots of money on it.

i am unsure yes

90% sure its not going to be broke

so i either get another engine and bang it in and leave it stage 3 or rebuild mine

problem is this is my only car!

so im sort of thinking of gettin another engine and rebuilding my lump if you know what i mean

im just a bit gutted after soending so long building it and doing everything correctly for it to go after 3 weeks and then more money to try and solve a problem and its fukts up again

bd16 is too big to run with greens and T34! standard cams will do fine just make the double spring valves and make the cams later when you decide to make a T4 and greys!!!!!
