re-taxing a car that is SORN
Right, the cossie is on a traior to NMS today, to be put back together and MOT'd, it is declared as SORN at the minute, obviously when it is all done i want to go and pick it up and drive it home, can i get away with driving it home with no tax so long as i tax it as soon as i get home or will i need to get the MOT cert from Karl and then go and get it taxed before i can drive it?
....... Also how do i go about re-taxing it as i dont have the letter they send you just before your tax runs out?

Take MOT, Insurance Cert and V5 logbook to post office and pay your money

Just make sure you have all your documents with you in the car and your are on the most direct route from garage to post ofice should you get pulled over
You will not get away with a 2 week journey from garage via 14 trips to work and back with 10 visits to McDonalds before you go to post office etc etc
