not really...
fastest cossie is a LARGE claim...
so point to point the focus is faster
0-60, 100, 150 the focus faster
Just fail's on top speed down to gearing ?
Was just interested how it was against the focus that was all.

It's the highest recorded top speed Cossie in Scotland. There are no doubt more powerfull cossies. Just his speed was recorded.
I'm not sure what you're getting at here. It's quite simple.

power wise Im not 100% sure what andys and charlies cars run.
I know what andys old engine made and Im 5 bhp behind it ATW on the same rollers.
If andy or charlie fitted a longer box then no doubt they would be up there or infront of my speed.
Until then mine hold the highest timed top speed.

BUT in a stright line with traction not an issue you could fit the same gear boxes to both cars and make the focus 2wd and who knows what would happen, its kinda impossible to compare the to cars.

well its fooking obvous isnt it if its something with corners lol you seen how easy andy pulled away from you in the focus lol and you used to always harp on about how your car was built for track unlike rod...so id imagine it would be the same for euan lol
hope you dont think its a diss at your car as yours is my favourite mk2

and comparing my car to a wrc spec car is even more redulculas than comparing it to a saff...
Not what i was on about, just the speed....
I know mine is over 500bhp per tonne at 26psi.....
Not sure the power of eaun's to be honest or the weight....
Be interested in how much the focus weigh's though

my car prob weighs a bit more than a standard saf due to the exhuast, wheels, brakes, two coolers etc.
My car is anywhere between 530-550 bhp fly realistically.
I know if i took it to another rolling road they will tell me its 600bhp fly.

There is a big differance between quickest and fastest. Andys car would prob be the fastest cossie in scotland if it gets timed, think it would be Sharpy's old escort to beat. But as it stands Euans is the fastest timed top speed car so whats the problem with the statment.

mine wouldn't make any more than 540 flat out.......

I asked Alan(who knows a wee bit about turbos) if mine could see 600 bhp on my car and reckoned it might get up there somewhere.
Think alot of it has to do with the exhaust on my car and a few other mods that he has carried out to the turbo.
We are going to try old turbo on more boost when we get a chance now we have sorted airbox.

So with your exhaust, and inlet mods the power of your car at fly would be alot closer to what most people get on a bench dyno. Out of interest what has been the max seen on a dyno with a T4 ?

There are a few cars that make over 500-600 bhp on the dyno then are fitted into the car with exhaust systems that massive restrict the power, by how much? who knows?
intercoolers are another area where dyno' engines suffer, the ACTs cant be controlled in the car like they can on the dyno so again who knows how much powe the engine has as the ACTs increase.
