probably between stages. They have to get to the base or next stage on public roads and abide by the traffic laws whilst doing so (hence the road legal rally cars) If you look at the replay at the end in slow mo it shows he is actually stopped when the bus hits...... He probably just left the bonnet poking out of the junction and the bus couldnt stop/move out of way in time.
Looks painful esp as the two guys heads basically bang off of eachother

ouch... looks probable to be a between stage part, as fezzamk1 said as ita in the daylight and road rallies are held at night... (althoguh the last car must arrive at the last checkpoint no later than an hour after sunrise...) but the LHDness of the cas promotest he stages thing... but its things like this that give the race/rally scene a bad name... i know my arents hate me helping wth road rallies as they see it as illeagal... ahwell... looks like it hurt though... look at the dash...
