Prob because there's a tad more weight on the front than the rear so will lower the front straight away.
Give it a week or two of driving round town and the back end will squat naturally once it's settled.

just spoke to the garage and they said the springs were definately the right way round etc but they had to modify the bumpstops quite a bit as it bottomed out at first?

GMAX kit, i might either look at using washers to raise it up a little bit as someone said or get some 20mm springs for the front

Washers to raise it up? Got me confused on that.
Just had another thought: when were they last changed? The rear original springs may have been a bit fooked and lost their "spring" so may have sagged anyhow. The new springs will be very stiff and may just appear higher in the meantime.
