Default Top Speed question....
I just read that the top speed record in a 4x4 was 196mph. Surely this is not true, and other 4x4's have been quicker??

any make, but it said a modified Porsche Cayenne holds the current 4x4 record at 196. I am sure there a quicker 4x4s

Think he means 4x4 as in the big fookers mums use to take one child to school in.

Quite a few 4x4 cars have cracked the 200mph barrier.

where is the stuff you read?? it might meant the fastest off-road 4x4, or production 4x4... although i would have thought the porsche turbo would have taken that...

the modified could have been aero mods, like spoilers.etc...

4x4 Cossie record is 194.7 by Martin, Simons EVO did 201.3 & the Scoob 210.4 the Fensport Corolla 200.3 must be a few Liners past it. The hard bits doing it in a mile .
