give up tim.....

The car when Hugh Hunter had it....leading the BTRDA for a spell....lovely car....just needed a little TLC.....i'm sure tommy will do it justice....

History of the car as Tim will confirm was,

Eamon Boland (Hertz)
Andy Orchard
Hugh Hunter
Tommy Field...

Although Malcom does build em he doesn't tend to actually own em...

so that makes it right then eh?

the car was built for eamon bolan and used in ireland for a few years, sponserd by herz car rental, hence its always been yellow, crashed very heavily as well over there in 1997.if i remember correctly!!

recently its been used and owned by hugh hunter (a good friend of mine) and hugh has used it in countless rallies over the last few years, with some success but also with some major reliability problems!!

it was originally a tarmac car but was then converted to gravel use.

That's not what's said at all...

"With the clock well and truly against him, there was only enough time to get the essentials ready and hope that Malcolm Wilson - who originally built the car prior to setting up M-Sport - had done a good job!"

We never said Malcolm owned it, or that there weren't other owners before him either...

Big engine should be ready for it shortly... christ knows what that's going to be like in a proper World Car with Tommy behind the wheel... his Warrior or the Sharan is bad enough!

PS. Cool pics!

i have heard that it will be raced 1 way or another next year tho.......if he has the spare time as he is so busy its unreal sometimes

The car was the 1st RHD Escort Cosworth WRC with Xtrac gearbox, ie the first ever fully active RHD WRC. Eamond Boland was a good and respected customer of M-sport. The car was replaced by the Black Hertz RHD Escort Cosworth WRC built by M-Sport for 98. The yellow Cosworth was bought by Hugh Hunter and run for about 18 months. It was sold to Tommy Field very recently, and I have an Italian Customer wanting to by both RHD M-Sport WRC Escorts, He currently owns a Jolly club 98 WRC Escort, 2 Boreham 96 GpA Escorts, A LHD GpN 3-door. If any one knows where the black Escort RHD is, please let me know. I would also be interested in Neil Dougans Boreham RHD Escort.

Is it me, it doesn't look right at the back. Probably a combination of gay wheels and sitting too low...

It looks as if the wheels at the back need to be a touch wider
