they standard gears mike? Whats caused that, the gears climbing or just the sheer torque killing it?

Standard CWP, Quaife ATB and thick-wall casing.

Torque and high mileage (40k plus of over 400lb ft), finally killed by 450lb ft and hard acceleration in first gear .

It would have been a mad rush to get it ready for Croft, and I had just done this several times and each time got bitten on the bum.

Mike, I would advise fitting a brand new CW&P set, and also having them peened and polished.

It's less likely to fail again

hi mike

you was quick enough to blame the box without really checking anything

atleast you know it's the front diff

Hi andy

did you break a 1st gear in the R+D not so long ago ?

hi spiky

nothing wrong with dave's box at all , it's his release clutch bearing that is fooked and thats got fook all to do with the box

you lot always seem to blame the box all the fooking time when there clearly nothing wrong with them

i get you lot a good product and all you lot do it is give it bad press all the time ,

same as the other gezza who owns the blue 600bhp escort @silverstone blamed the box striaght away and the after taking the gear box out it was his twin plate clutch was fooked

fook yourselfs from now on get another fooking box i have had enough of this shite

the only down fall with this box is it's still a syncromesh box thats it which was disigned for road/track day car

Marco..

i'm thinking YOU are jumping on the band wagon here.

as I was referring to the DAVE comment as in the following

quote DAVEcos4x4

"Mike check the diff"

i'm shocked you would think i'd blame the box and jump on the band wagon like the sheep on this site

hi andy
to be honest the box has lasted well im not knocking it in anyway

i know a few peeps that have had them some have lasted a long time some have failed in such a short time

one thing i like about the R+D it is a dog box

Bara could do a dog box we have talked about doing one but the only problem would be is demand if he was to have a few orders he most defo would go ahead and do a few but it would have to be at the right price to , too sell them
