polly_x,

That may be the ecu just counting transitions.

The direction off them WILL affect syncing.

The ecu will part sysnc WITHOUT the cam/phase sensor

The ecu checks for the signal direction relative to the last for the sync check.
The rpm calculation just counts the fact it has happened NOT the direction
of the signal itself. Changing the pins round may correct that issue.
You should still get a sync without the cam sensor working although it
may flag up an error after a few cranks.

I still think you have an issue with the crank signal in its polarity or the
teeth spacing or the material its made from assuming the number of teeth
and crank sensor type settings are as you confrimed earlier.

Still not running...............

But I didnt try tonight.

Decided to do some of the last finishing off touches like wiring the Oil Pressure, Oil Temp and Fuel Pressure into the ECU and making sure it was transmitting to the dashboard.....Which it is.

Tomorow will be get it running and ready for mapping day.

I will no doubt have problems and the winner of the problem solving will get the chance to show Gareth their tools.

Just to poke my nose in and add a few markers

to go to T6 from P8 you correctly have to invert the phase wires

Also if running rocker cover phase sensor, on a P8 it runs 2 triggers, on a T6 you run 1.

Also with T6 you DO need to see if a 36 minus one crank pulley was used.

and lastly is the loom and crank signal wired for twin sensors.

oh correct map sensor?

Any other Questions please PM or e-mail me, I have lots of Pectel drawings, and love getting my teeth into this stuff.

or whether its a 3 or 5 bar?

its currently running a 3 bar and selected in descpro.

And or the difference in the wiring between a 5 and 3 bar map sensor....I had one couple of years back....you have to swap two wires on the plug...

Cant believe the car still wont run.......

hi ian, he thinks its a map issue or maybe timing.

as the map is for greys and he's running 850CC's

so i think he needs to a % cut on the fuel map or something i think he said.

Stu can't get near a PC today.
