Default My Nurburgring trip

Well last week we got back from a weeks "break" at the ring !

Well what a week it is was

I can't honestly say much went to plan but I think everyone including myself had a bloody good time all things considered.

My original report can be found here for those that have 5 mins to read it :

http://www.turbo-nutters.co.uk/forum...pic=14104&st=0

Besides all of the problems I have written about the only thing I thought I would mention on here was my dissapointment with the Ringhaus, you would of thought with 16 guests alone in our group the least they could of done was kept the bar open after breakfast ! every evening except the weekend we had to head down elsewhere to have a drink which I personally felt was a little out of order. In future I'll make sure we stay back at Edgars, just this year being the DTM weekend Edgar didn't have enough space for us all

Anyway enough going on, here are the pics !

At Dover ready for the ferry :

This car kicked arse ^^^^ Thanks for the ride mate

I wonder who left these

Thanks to everyone who came, tip top week, roll on 2008

No that depends on a lot of things

My mate was doing 4 laps to a tank in his GTR

Hotel costs were stupid, so don't go when the DTM is on

My tip is get a rental ! my god did that save us some cash

How big's the tank - 15 gallons? About 3.5 gallons per lap?

Whatever a stock R33 GTR tank is !

When you drive flat out for 13 miles ANY car uses a lot of petrol !

rst in progress cheers mate, its not actually my car yet I upkeep it for someone so any problems come back to me, this was just a case of shit luck though . It will be fixed by this coming weekend

Good point. Even the most frugal car is going to *use* some fuel when being caned around the ring!!!

I have never analysed my fuel consumption but guess it must be a gallon a lap at least. I normally run half a tank at a time.

Yeah wasn't querying that it would use a lot - just wondered roughly what the mpg was.
Had a look and the standard tank is 14.3 gallons on a UK spec one - so just about 3.5 mpg on a flying lap

Jim galbally was getting 28mpg out of his M3 to do laps just over 11 mins long when we went out really steady for a few laps purely for the sake of learning the track more thoroughly.

Mike - For all that he said about it costing too much for a trackday before we booked it he now wants to go back at Easter lol

He had a great time though, car is still going very well, its tired now though but much better on track with the 3.9:1 ratio in the back.

As it was everyones first visit they all spent most of the time learning the circuit but I think Dave still got down to the low 9's, he really scrubbed off a lot of speed where you don't need too though, practice makes perfect, he just didn't like being beaten by a Astra

We'll probably do another trip through turbo-nutters around the same time next year but I think Dave and I may come earlier as well so we might join your group if your doing a easter visit.

Is your car sorted yet Mike ?
