I.D. this connector and sensor please
The one with the arrow going to it. It sits just behind the distributor.
This is the connector itself:
This seems to be responsible for my crazy revcounter as moving it around seems to make the problem come and go. Anyone know what it does? I've been told it connects to the TDC sensor but just want to confirm using the photo. Its driving me nuts now!
Sorry for posting a techincal query here but more people are likely to view it here. Cheers.

Shite. I've been giving it loads of stick recently thinking it was just the rev counter but engine seems okay (touch wood). It won't be turning a wheel again until its sorted. I'm hoping its just a loose connection so i'm going to try and clean up the connections properly.
Is it hard to fit a new sensor which I think i'll do as a precaution.

The car WONT start without it !
Yes thats the proper bracket and is a cunt to remove sometimes so people
just leave it off to save grief but that can damage the crank sensor wire
itself as its so stiff compared to the wiring loom and vibrates it.

It is more common to suffer from a bad connection due to the pins inside the moulding not gripping the other half.
If duff first you will NOT get a prime signal as it receives a dirty signal.
If the engine is running ok this is NOT the problem with the rev counter.

ps connectors available seperately from POLEVOLT.CO.UK

Smit - for your info my rev counter seems fixed now (touch wood). I changed the sensor and hence the lower connector and also cleaned up the plugs on the coil and it seems okay now. Good luck with yours
