as long as it is booked in for a MOT and is insured you dont need tax to take it to and from a mot station

(you dont need mot or tax to get it insured)

I'm sure they'd struggle to get a conviction on those grounds! How would you know it was unfit to drive, without having it MOT'd in the first place?

i know you can drive to an mot station if its pre booked to be tested but what if it then fails the test on even a minor fault ? are you legally allowed to drive it home now knowing it has just failed ?

you can drive it home if its failed as long as the tester has not deemed it to be in a dangerous condition

make sure that when you book it in to give the garage the reg number so if you do get stopped the police will check that you are booked in the garage with the cars reg. I get a couple of these calls a year from the police and you can drive it home as you have proof that you have just had the mot with the pass or fail
