Default got pulled with no MOT

my cousin got pulled with No MOT last week, he got 7 days to MOT it and it failed on a wheel bearing,,
the keeper that he bought the car from said it had 3months left on it but didnt have the certificate.. but the copper recons it dont have any MOT
so what will happen if he produces without and MOT certificate?? am i right saying that its not Endorsable so he'll get a fine and no points??

Be worse than that! Why would he take the owners word for it having a MOT?

you sure he didnt give him 7 days to produce the mot that it supposed to have rarther than get it mot'd in 7 days because even if he mot'd it the day after he was stopped it would count as not having no mot

i used to be a smallish fine (about £100-£150ish) but wasnt endorsable with points but the fine would depend on his previous driving record. the police would already know if it had a avlid mot or not as all the information to do with your car is on their database so maybe he was using his discretion to give him a chance to mot asap. im not sure though how it effect his insurance as technically it shouldnt be on the road so wouldnt be covered which is a whole new ballgame altogether
