20K+ Super Poster.
It's all on a dvla site somewhere, but I am sure it's 8 points you need.
Some people have been known to tell porkies as well to keep reg plates, can't beleive it myself but true!!

I think the points sytem is required for a new reg. For the donor car reg you need the log book with matching engine numbers (if they bother to check) and be able to prove you have used the running gear (which I think requires pointing at it ).
I have my donor registered in my name, striped, registerd SORN and I have retained the chassis plate.
I havnt woried about that to much yet but there are a few builders on here that I am sure will comment.

I see Thats like the new reg for a kit car.
"The registration of radically altered vehicles covers vehicles which are substantially altered from their original specification, but which are not kit conversions."
I guess its how they classify the car you are applying for

Dave,
Pop down to your local DVLA office and ask to see the person who deals with kitcar or altered vehical inspections. They should be able to give you the up to date info/forms that you need.
You will need to register the banham chassis number if has not been done, or get number for it. To get a chassis number they need to inspect it.
