Default the value of your car

been talking about this latley, might sell my escos next year & me & a few friends have been talking about what its worth, a few reckon because its still an old escort its only worth about 6-8k, the chaps on the other end of the scale say its worth nearer to 30k i wish
its a funny thing to value your own car, you don't want to value it to high & look like a twat, but you don't want to undervalue it & lose to much money! Someone made a bid on it a couple of weeks back that i considered to be a good offer, he thought i would sell up (or push hi up a bit more) with the offer, i told him i wanted a bit of good use out of it first, hence keeping it until at least next year.
strange situation with modded cars, you rarlely get back what they owe you (unless thats your thing) but when you come to sell it can be so tricky, DISCUSS

As Neil says Matt yours is the right car, right spec, right colour and so will command a premium - or at least strong money.

If I could get back what my S1 owes me......I'd buy an RS500 cash...........

My advice is that if someone offers you a good sum take it without hesitation, a mate of mine got offered 10k for jis rx7 last year, now 3k miles on it needs a rebuild and he's already tried to sell it with absolutly no luck what so ever. Buy and sell with your head not your heart, as for valuing your own car, its normally around the money you paid for it depending on condition etc

Matt,

to give you an idea 3drbadboy sold his N plate Aluris Escort Cossie for £15k which imo was too cheap, when I saw it for sale I'd have expected £18k....

Rough spec of his 1 (just from memory)...

Rebuilt engine on 305 GGR conv
356mm front brakes
330mm rear brakes
9"x18" Comp MO's
Buftied underneath and on top

Link to his car after resto...

its only worth what people are willing to pay at the end of the day.

Many performance cars are run by people with champagne ideas and lemonade pockets which is why there are so many rough examples out there.

People with lemonade pockets unfortunately spend a lot of time tyre kicking... wait until someone serious wants to buy it and offers you good money imho

Ive been trying to buy a car of my tuner for a while and he's having none of it, but im certain I will get it in the end...
