That's just my opinion though you might have found a decent car there
Is it the cunt with the caravans on his plot?
Thats the bloke, near the Summit Pub on the outskirts of Royton
Bit of a bellend aint he, Was he wearing his Arfur Daley jacket, think its his 2nd skin that thing
At least you got to meet the cunt.... His daughter came to answer the gate with a big fucking doberman!

Asked to speak to him and all I got was some inbred mumbles from her then she picked up her phone an rang him... HE WAS INSIDE HIS FUCKING HOUSE about 3 meters away.

Also from further observations someone was using a Megane convertable to shift the caravans round the lot. ... Madness I tell thee.

I really wanted an M5 at some point but thats put me right off now. I knew it would be bad, but didnt expect it to be 12mpg urban. And i thought it would do more than 28 on a run as i assume the revs would be really low at 70-80.

Think ill definatly go for the 530d now, as im sure you can get double the mpg urban and no doubt you could get around 40 ish on a run.

As regards the 530i's. What power are these running? I assume not much more than 230bhp with less torque than the diesel, especially when re-mapped. I keep hearing from owners of both petrol and diesel 530's/330's that the performance is VERY similar.

M5 : Yep, town driving gives you a poor 12 -15mpg. But then again, I do use that pedal on the right hand side as it was meant to be used.

In sixth gear on cruise control, the computer shows 28.7 mpg. Not sure how accurate the computer is, but I just got a little over 300 miles of spirited driving out of a full tank......Portsmouth - Rockingham (Driving with the Hampshire RSOC Guys) and Rockingham - Porsmouth + a bit of town driving, and that was it.....Empty.. Filled up when the light came on.......62 litres needed to fill it up again. (70 litre tank).

A fun 300 miles though, and not driving economically.

I did fill it up with the intention of driving economically for the whole tank and seeing what I could get out of it........But that all went to pot after about thirty minutes. Lets face it, you don't buy an M5 to pussy foot around in.

I make that 22 mpg based on 300 mile to 62 litres. 28.7 mpg would be more like 390 miles to that amount of fuel mate, so maybe the computers are not so accurate.

It would be interesting to see what the 530d gets in comparison though.

i used to have an schwartz black, immaculate 520i, on a H plate.

such a good car for the money (paid 600!)...looked well, everything was solid, faultless reliability and even the 2.0 sounded well at full chat.

mates got a 525 TD on a W reg, pulls like a train...lovely car.

good purchase
