yeh the film is all fiction, they only used the end bit where they got shot in the range rover

it was written by Bernard O'Mahoney who was part of their gang. Just been on his website and theres full pics includng all the crime scene pix which shows the three dead and all the wounds.
after reading all about it seeing the pictures made it even more real.

On Bernards site I have read all the legal blurb on it, including full transcrips of the trial and the appeals. Took me nearly a month (I was doing it at work )

Top and bottom of it is this, the entire case hinges on the super snitch. His motivation was clear, he wanted his on sentence to be as short as possible. Also he livedin a police station for a year or so, and had many days when two officers took him and and nobody knew where.

Very dodgy goings on in this highly unusual case. Also it was one of the first cases that cell site analysis was used. So from a legal perspective its very interesting.

if uve read the book and u know essex really well u can tell where all the police stations are that he got took to by the descriptions of what he sees out of the windows, also the range rover they died in used to belong to a mate of mines neigbours.

The films good as there's a saph in it (for about ten seconds) they donut in the snow. Only reason I bought the DVD!

Bare in mind that Bernard O'Mahoney is full of crap, but I do find the event interesting. Carlton Leach's book Muscle is probably better. There will be a film out soon about Leach and the Essex boys slayings called Rise of the foot soldier.

yes, correct they alledgedly supplied the excstacy that killed leah betts, her father was a high ranking retired policeman.....2 main essex drug suppliers shot dead(the other was just a playa), 2 alledged drug importers tried and convicted of the murders and all those linked to them via raquels ran for cover, raquels shut down,epping forest country club shut down......... essex cleaned in less than a year

problem was as soon as she died her parants gave it the 'not my daughter she never took drugs, it was her first ever one ' sketch......then it turned out she had been in raquels rinsing her tits off for months

epping shut for 6 months when it all went bandy just after raquels....for breach of licensing over excessive drug taking/dealing .....it was relicensed under a different licensee and re-opened

and yes i was a regular at both venues.......used to be great nites

and berwick manor about 89 to 90 when it was all posh ravers, before it turned into a refuge for council house druggies and violence...

yes the shooting was down workhouse lane in rettenton, essex.
a farmer found the bodies in the car the next morning

carlton leach is a top fella used to do all his cars for him wouldnt fuck with him mind.....his book muscle is well worth a read

read the books myself(bernard has done 3 on the subject) and some is bull but they make a good read.

I like the film alot as well although its obviously nothing to do woth the book really!
