A charity worker was beaten up and left for dead after politely asking a fellow rail passenger to move out of his way, a court heard.

Roger Hare enraged his attacker by saying 'Excuse me' as he tried to make his way off the train.

The 62-year-old was punched repeatedly and sent flying out of the carriage and on to the station platform.

Other passengers were too scared to step in and watched as his alleged attacker, Ebanezer Adesina, calmly got off the train and walked away.

He ignored their calls to stop, saying: 'What's the point? He's dead already.'

The attack happened after Mr Hare boarded a train at Victoria on February 20. Adesina was said to have got on at Brixton, South-East London.

When Mr Hare tried to get off at West Dulwich he said 'Excuse me' to those blocking the aisle, but Adesina, 20, ignored him. As the grandfather of three squeezed past, Adesina allegedly got to his feet and punched him repeatedly across the face and shoulders.

The victim staggered towards the end of the carriage before being 'punched or shoved backwards with such force that he flew out through the open door', said prosecutor Oliver Glasgow.

Adesina then allegedly turned to fellow passengers and told them: 'I could f*** you all up. Who wants some?'

Mr Hare suffered a fractured skull and spent a week on a life support machine.

He survived but was left deaf and with poor memory.

'The attack was so serious that few, if any, of the passengers on board did anything to stop it. All were either too shocked or too scared to get involved,'

Mr Glasgow told Southwark Crown Court.

Adesina, of Dagenham, Essex, denies causing grievous bodily harm and the trial continues.

it's an appalling act, and i reckon that A: someone should have stood up for the poor fella, and B: he should definitely be up for attempted murder, hopefully locked up for a long time (unlikely! ) and with any luck get the shit beaten out of him in prison. see how much of a badman he thinks he is then!

Yes it does. We have an Albanian who works for us, and the stories of the violence that is considered the norm and acceptible in their country would shock anyone from the UK . Obviously this culture of "violence solves everything" is brought with them when they come to this country(although is in part why lots of "good" people leave their own countries of origin, to escape this kind of culture, but with good apples come the bad ).

Obviously, I am only assuming he is of that stock from his ACTIONS and then name, as no "normal" person would react like that .
