They'd slag Porkie off too if his parents bought them for him. Because Porkie has worked for his cars, they can't say nothing and rightly so. However, they feel because Carl's BMW was paid for by his Father, they somehow have the right to have a go at him, even though they'd not turn one down themselves... In a million years.

Its not what car you have, or how you got it, its how you act that matters. If Porkie, to use a current example was to come on and say "check my fleet of awesome cars out that I own because I am better than all you potless wankers" then he would get cained off the forum I am sure, but he doesn't, so he don't.

I couldn't be more happy for you [seeing as you're a total stranger]. The one difference is your every second post isn't a comparison of your volvo to other cars, how slow they are in comparison and how tuneable yours is compared to them blah blah blah.
I don't begrudge Carl's dad giving him a car, paying the finance or lease or whatever has happened. I just find reading through the same replies with figures of BMWs doing quarter miles on every other post, a bit tedious. I wouldn't normally bother posting about it as I just ignore posts that don't interest me but it's cold and I'm bored and want a cuddle.

I wonder if some of the 500+hp cossie owner's come on her bragging about there car are gonna get slated?
We all love our car's a passion we all share
I think my S1 is gonna beasty as fuck when i get the EFI done on her and i wanna rip most cossie's down with my 1.6 for shit's and giggle's so if i said it would beat a cossie i would be bragging and deserve the treatment your handing out to carl?!?

Its an enormous huge huge mega site... and he made a BIG impression. It was probably THE funniest thread in the history of Pistonheads.

What I find amazing, if you follow that link, and any other relating to Carl that the thread ALWAYS kicks off, even if Carl doesn't post much. He really seems to have a habit of irritating people.
He'd actually be a nice guy if he resisted banging on about that bloody car. You'd have thought he'd have got the message by now having been rinsed by just about every car based forum going!

Lol at you guys resurecting this thread from two and a half years ago. I bought the bm off my dad this week 2 years ago. Least it still creating some
funny threads. Car still going strong after Over 150 1/4mile runs, 3 ring trips, several track days and a beating every day of the week lol.
