Default ice problem still

ive still got a prob with my cd changer if anyone can help? ive got a kenwood mask up front, and 10 cd changer in boot, every so often the cd changer will just crash like a pc the music will start to crackle then pack up and the cd changer wont do anything, you can still change tracks or cd via the head unit but the changer wont respond, after around 45 secs-5 mins it will be ok again i noticed yesterday that if im driving steadily then its ok,but as soon as i put my foot down it starts again! if i back off the throttle its ok again after a minute or so whats going on? as im getting really pissed off with it now

Have you checked and cleaned the connections on the lead at the changer and also at the back of your head unit? Maybe even check where you've run the lead through make sure it's not broken at all?

Personally, I've never known a multichanger that didn't skip occassionally unless it was one that was built into the car from new.

Is the mask headunit a cassette or CD?

Or buy an in dash CD player [if its not one already]. I don't know anyone - except possibly my 86 year old nan - that's had any tapes for about 10 years.

If I'm ever in a car with a multichanger for any period of time, I always set off on a journey forgetting to change the CD's over anyway, as do most people probably. Find them a total waste of time when you can go get a cheap cd player for Ł50 from halfrauds that works better.

no,the mask is just a radio, but it does it when stationary!! i mean i can rev the car and as soon as it goes beyond a certain point the changer will pack up,like its picking up massive interference, dont want to waste money on a new lead if its the changer though

could be a number of things , as already said check all the leads and go along the length of the data lead with your music on and give it a good wiggle , if it goes off then its prob a damaged lead

it could also be how you have the changer mounted , what angle is it at and have you got the angle knob set to how you have it mounted

does the car have an amplifier with big power leads running to the boot?

Take the changer lead out and run it down the middle of the car over the seats temporarily, as it may well be picking up inteerference.

well if they run together, you will want to run the power lead down one side of the car, and the changer/rca leads down the other side
