Default Sorry for the delay on the M4 earlier!!!

Was involved in a 5 car pile up on the M4 earlier bout half 4,

Was going eastbound at junction 6, work van is well fucked

Thing is the van infront of me nver had no brake lights so gonna fight this when it comes to claim time, also the police made a note and another white van man pulled up, who was following me and said he didnt see any brake lights either.....so made sure got his details to and passewd them on to the insurers.

Oh well Hay ho and all that

a little bit forensic here...

did you collect or take any pics of the blokes tail lamps?

when they brake lights are on, they are hot, when someone smashes into the back and breaks the lights fragments of glass stick to the hot metal.

no doubt you didnt as, why the hell would you...

anyway, all the best and i hope it all works out for you.

i left my house at 11.15am this morning to drive from swindon to bath, to me a cunting hour to do 10 miles!

no smash, no blood spilt...

the only thing i can think it was, is the 50mph speed limit by the roadworks near chippenham, cos after that it was fine!

was stuck in all the traffic on the m4 last night too, lorry jacknifed by J13 and it took me a cunting hour to newbry too, then another smash on the m25 with a mere 27 mile tailback!!

i hate motorways

Cheers guys,

The guys van i hit only had minor bumper damage the light clusters did not even break

I showed the two officers what was going on so hopefully it went in there report.

As for my van think its worse than it is, as its mainly crumple zones (sp) that take all the impact?.

Ive passed the guys details on to my insureres who was following me who backs up that he did not see any lights on either which is a bonus.

Not counting my chickens yet as this may drag out for a while

Is no brake lights an excuse for driving too close then, maybe you might consider getting your eyesight checked ?

If you've hit someone from behind then basically your fucked mate, no two ways about it! In 8 years i've never seen anything else but the person behind be penalised!

I've even seen it where a person in front rolled backwards into the person behind and the cunts still got away with it!

What four car lengths is not far enough mate?

My tyre marks i left on the motorway could tell you how far away i was, im not using it as an excuse, but lights are there for a reason no?

obviously 4 car lengths was not enough, or you wouldn't have gone into the back of him

it probably would have happened to most of us though, but if you left very long skid marks perhaps you should think about doing some advanced driver training to learn how to brake better. skidding increases the stopping distance compared to breaking up to the limit. they teach you things like that on certain skid pan training days etc. might come in handy next time you're in a precious classic ford without abs

four car lengths is worth about 0.7 seconds at 60mph... nope, I doubt that is enough on the motorway
2 seconds at 60mph is approximately 12 car lengths which is the minimum you want to be leaving..

you'll be very lucky to get awa with this as the perosn beihnd is always at fault for not leaving enough gap

hope you didn'[t tell the coppers you were that close because they might make a different case against you

also, getting hit from behind isn't always the guy behinds fault
the judge said that he was going faster than me so it was my fault for being in his way

cunt
