Default computer geeks........

how do i stop my p.c from dissconecting with the modem..???........i have to turn on bearshare (just an eg.),if i dont run a program it looses connection after about 20 ish mins..............bt homehub if that helps...if i turn bearshare on its fine...............cheers Pete

Go into the configuration for the homehub.

You need to find the 'idle disconnection' time setting, which is probably set to 20 minutes - set it to 0 or -1 and it shouldn't disconnect when it's not being used.

bearshare is probably keeping the connection up by sending/receiving packets to its server.

Yes, Bearshare will be keeping the connetion "Live" by constantly accessing the internet and recieving data, even tho you might not be down or uploading anything....

As said, go into the HomeHub settings and you should be able to fix the idle connection time settings in there......
