LSD or non-LSD that is the question

that looks like a ford slipper as the centre is offset
the way to make sure is to remove the output shafts and, if one is longer than the other, it's a slipper
if they are both the same length then it's not
the big thing bolted to the crownwheel is where the lsd bit goes on these diffs (apparently)

that is indeed a tooth broken on the pinion. if that bit of tooth had got between the other teeth of that gear and the one that it meshes to (the crownwheel - the big one on the left in the first picture on the post) it would have broken more of them and you would have no drive from that diff
EDIT: much like doug has done

It was Peened and Polished by Bernie at CTS... poo
Great pic! Thanks for that. I can actually see how the CWP fits with a ATB and works now. Had no idea before

those lsd diffs have one output shaft longer than the other
so eamsure them
looks lsd to me but can't be too sure
the way to test it is to turn the pinion and hold one side output still
if it's difficult to turn then it's pretty much an lsd (or a fubar diff )

no its a standard free running diff. you tell by where the sun gear sits in relation to the crown wheel. if it sticks out its viscous. if it sits just inside its normal unit

correct, it was free running
but it looked like an LSD to me at first glance when i compared it to my LSD. i didn't see the subtle difference that an experienced pro like you obviously knows about
didn't matter, i was going to weld it anyway
