Shorten the rod to increase boost, lengthen it to decrease boost

dont you need to make sure your car is fuelling ok for the boost setting on your new turbo? You'd need a wideband to make sure you dont melt it.

Then use your gauge to set it up.

Rough guess 25psi maybe more - whatever your map requires I suppose

But you'll need your gauge in there first

if its going to tuners, you dont need no boost at all. If its on yellows and stg1 chip, i wouldnt have it boosting at all, as the map will be for a T3 and not a bigger T34.

I would advise you to let them set the boost too
What wastegate actuator are you using and what form of boost control have you got

just connect everything up to how it was and let them set it up for you....you'll never get it right by guessing.

just drive off boost most of the way there, and also if it's been overfuelling then have an oil change when you arrive

leave the boost low, not much pre load on the wastegate actuator arm, then let the tuner set it on the rollers

good tuner should set it through your amel valve

i dont know just know my boost is control through my amel valve they set my actuator to a certain load then programmed my chip to make the amel valve control the boost plus they adjust the holes in the valve but that was when they was live mapping it

the spike is controlled by the amal valve, and the resrictor port is removed so the valve can get rid of enough air as it will be much more than it was designed for, but the boost(hold fig) is adjusted by the pre load on the wastegate actuator arm

dont know fella all i know when they come back from the fnal road test they said it was still running lean at high rpm so ahmed reprogrammed to chip to reduce the boost via amel valve

strange at high rpm the valve is normally closed anyway, sending all the boost from the compressor housing to the wastegate actuator ,so it opens at the gate set ammount, i opening the valve will increse boost not lower it

Amal valve,or boost control solenoid as its sometimes called, this is how the ecu controls the amount of boost the turbo makes ,like an elactronic bleed valve in effect.

it also allows the boost to have a peak and hold figure, as the boost will spike when the valve is opening, then return to its hold figure when it closes off at the top of the boost range.

some people do away with them and just fit a bleed valve in between, but then you can only run the hold figure of boost and not have a nice spike to give a tad more torque where its needed

the amal valve basicly stops the wastegate actuator seeing the full amount of boost pressure coming from the compressor housing ,it does this by opening and closing a electronic valve, which bleeds some of the boosted air to atmosphere

take this example ,your wastegate actuator is set with a small pre load, and will open at 15psi.

the turbo is making 15 psi, so the wastegate should open preventing the turbo from making any more boost, BUT the amal valve is opening and closing very quickly allowing 5 psi to escape to atmosphere, all of a sudden your turbo is making 20psi before the wastegate actuator can see the 15psi it opens at. HERE IS YOUR PEAK FIGURE,

Then as the rpm climbs ,the ecu tells the to valve stop opening and it stays closed, the wastegate actuator can now see the full amount of boost made by the turbo and only allows 15psi before it opens the wastegate to prevent any more, HERE IS THE HOLD FIGURE.
