Default Wasp problem

After reading the post about the bee problem, thought I'd ask about my wasp problem. I've got a Calor propane tank in the garden (1500ltrs) and since I moved in theres been a problems with wasps on the tank. Started off with a few wasps and now its built up over past few weeks to about 50 odd wasps on the tank and buzzing round it. Cant see a nest anywhere but it seems their numbers are growing everyday. Tried using some spray on bug killer on the tank but didn't do much, and everything else I've tried hasn't worked.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Just wait for someone to suggest the WD40 and a lighter trick

I think i read somewhere that if you spray the area in a strong mix of washing up liquid, they cant get the stuff off their legs and end up either snuffing it or "moving" on..

Makes plenty of bubbles though when it rains...lol

Here a trick my mum uses. She gets a jam jar thats got a bit of jam left in . Fills it a qtr full with water and hangs it up in the garden. The little fuckers go in there get stuck and drown.

I still prefer the piro way with a lynx and a lighter though.

Detonate the bottle, the fireball from 1500 litres of propane should sort out any insects for a good few miles around.

This will tell you how to protect your house from the blast, basically whitewash the windows, that even stops a nuclear bomb from killing you it seems

i have found that harsh automotive chemicals such as "brake kleen" will kill wasps in mid air and the pressure behind it is enough that you can stand about 10 to 15 feet away from those little bastards. i have never found another bug killer that works better or even close to as good as brake kleen.

Cut the top off a 2l plastic bottle, then turn it round and stick it back inside the bottom half (so it looks like a big funnel)

pure some beer or jam inside with water - don't go past the neck of the bottle though!

Place it near them and watch them climb in and drown! LOL
