Audi S6 and RS6 difference (external)
Hi all,
Would anyone know the differences between the S6 and RS6 externally? From what I can see front bummer, wheels and side skirts - also what would be the estimated cost for the parts.
And any buying tips on a S6 estate (2001 ish) would be great.
Thanks
Bobby

To be honest I'd love a RS6 but its out of my budget. So thought a S6 with kit would do me it cant be bad with 340hp.
EsCosRacer - u got any buying tips for that body?
Cheers

i got the avant (as andy calls it: THE DOG TRANSPORTER)...lol
bobby
i bought it new almost 5 yrs ago and really happy with it. it went on strike the first week i had it (some vacuum hose fell out of the intake), it took a while for them to realize what it was but after that mine runs really sweet. what i did hear is that the active suspension seems to be troublesome, i never had an isue with it though. service cost on the RS6 are sky high, the last time i spent so much was on a car with a horse on its tag....
Mine goes 280km/h without any problems and i never even chipped it, 450hp is waaaay enough. Did set the brakes on fire though on a local hill i know too well You dont realize how heavy that car is until its on fire
Even pink bunny mike had to agree on the Nürburgring that this is an amazing car (we used it everytime his escort broke down, i.e. everyday ) And on the way to the restaurant some PFers were a bit astonished that u can drift it through corners....
Actually I am so happy with it that i might consider getting the new one once its out
Hope you find one that suits you, they really are good cars,
Michael

just think the rs6 was getting a little old and hed had a few problems with ecu i think.also there wasnt another rs6 to replace it at the time only an s6.and by saying better car i think he just meant it is as quick but feels more refined.less brutal.think he may be getting old lol

I have just taken a deposit on my A6 4.2 V8 which is almost the same as the S6 basically (just a bit cheaper with 30bhp less )
Beware of parts costs, mine had a new exhaust and cats which came out at £2800 and I had to change the instrument cluster as well at £650. If anything goes wrong it can cost you big time! Things like services etc can easily come out at £400+ if you have the full works done.
They drive awesomely though, feel stuck to the road in the bends and cruise very well (2900rpm is 100mph!)
