ultimate car has to be the vayron! untill vw built them only cosworth owners would have taken a loss like that to prove a point!

oohh thats one aint it,a ferrari is a ferrari.its the badge aint it.
a proper car.but it is slow for a ferrari and as said the mr2 kits have totally made me lose respect for them.
but an escort cos is the tits too.and cheaper to run. and faster probaly

too tough really but i have to say i think i'd be in the escort.
now if you had said a 550 maranello, thats different

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!

The 355 is a well known drivers car.... the Lambo is an overweight, underengineered TRACTOR like Chest wig car!!!!!!

and the F50 is far superior to the F40 in my view as well...
as normal lee,, you are so right! i would still take the f40 though just so i dont show off my ugly head

All depends on what you want from a car. Where and how often you plan on using it.

My money would be on a GT3.

13 second quarter, 180mph, handles like a dream.

Yeah, really gay

Apart from something with a Porsche badge on the front, what else is out there for 50k that isn't a boy racer car?
Most Decent TVR's
Ultima GTR
starting to get into Lambo Diablos
Lotus Exige
Aston Martin DB7 (if thats your thing)
M3 CSL
550 Maranello
Noble M 12 GTO

etc etc etc...... 355's are just a bit of a posers car really IMHO, shame the propper ferraris like F40's are sooooo fucking expensive (best car ever made IMHO)
Decent TVR? I've been looking at 350Cs. That car's done half it's money in 3 years!
Ultima - insanely fast, but hardly practical car to use on the road.
Exige - track tool, but hardly worthy of spending 50k on.
DB7 - so very very dated.
M3 CSL - love em, so no complaints there.
550 - probably a good buy bearing in mind it's done its depreciation, but more proper GT than sports car.
Noble - my ideal next car, but far too track focused. Same reliability issues and build quality doubts as TVR.

To say the F40 is the best car ever made is crazy IMO. Yes, I love em as well, but what's your criteria?
Have to admit I am performance through and through, and I would buy an Ultima GTR (and will be doing for my next "silly"car). Ferrari F40 is just everything that makes a car great, lightweight for its size, mad sound, tuneable, built for 1 purpose, awsome looks. I know stuff like the Macca F1 etc are probably much better cars, but the F40 is the stuff of boyhood dreams

I know F355's are great cars, I am not disputing that and no doubt I would love driving one, but I would be a bit dissapointed spending all that cash to have somthing no faster than a decent stg 3 saff , also tends to attract the hooorah henry crowd quite a bit. 360CS is the best of the baby ferraris, but they are serious ŁŁŁŁ

And I know Lambos are a bit agricultural, but they look fucking mental and tend to have mad petrol head owners as well

Andy's GT3 shout is a good one. I would have gone for one over the CSL but a) I got fed up saving and b) you can't get a pushchair in without the wife castrating you after her first attempt

Apart from that its a Ferrari FFS and leagues above the escos.

However, if this is instead of a house then I would have to go sensible and advise the house....

Even with interest rates going through the roof? might be more sensible to buy a silly car at the moment

Watching Carrera GT prices....

Unless I win the lottery I can't see me ever be willing to spend the money a Bugatti costs on a car. They are proper money.

I do see myself winning the lottery actually.... which is weird as I don't actually buy a ticket ever

The problem is the grass always seems greener on the other side, but I personally think that unless you have driven one for more than several hundred miles, you may end up being severely disappointed with it once the novelty has worn off.

I get to drive lots of cars and very few give the same draw as a Cossie and once the novelty ("look at me") value has worn off, will you still enjoy it? Given the running costs of owning one of these, I personally think they are a bit pointless, as you're always scared of devaluing it or getting to that next BIG service (I thought the Esprit cambelt change was expensive at Ł1k from a Lotus dealer, but I have heard figures bandied around of 3-5 times that for the 355 ).

However, given your love for them, and your penchant for "look at me" haircuts, perhaps it will suit you down to the ground .

well, you'd definitely get more honeys with a Ferrari than an escort. performance doesn't matter to most chicas but they love it when it says ferrari.

Id keep the cossie as the grass isnt always greener on the other side, compare the running and service costs of both cars and see if you can afford to run the ferrari

Cant believe people are saying 355's are slow..

there are a few that do all the tracks days at Knockhill and they are always some of the fastest cars on track.

..i cant beleive people dissing a Ferrari when they only own a ford

..Gareth the 355 is not worth the xtra over the 348 IMHO..have the 348 on 355 wheels and the escos

..i was gonna go 360..but bought the XKR Jag instead to go with my 348!
