Gareth,
I drove Doug Stirlings old 355 for about 80 miles and its a nice car
but it didnt excite me one bit.
Sounds nice, looks good but the performance was very dissapointing.
Keep the escort IMO, its more rewarding to drive and cheaper to run

I'd go with the Escos any day mate
You could probably buy an Escos every year for the money you'll piss off owning and servicing the Ferrari.
Plus the Cosworth's looking sharper ain't it?

However when you see the Escos you get excited as maybe one is within your reach soon...
Sorry, but thats the TRUTH of it!
If money and running cost and practicality/reliability are not in the equation then anyone who chooses a stage 3 Ford Escort over an Ferrari F355 must be pretty delusional in my opinion

Don't think the beginning of Goldeneye would have been quite the same, with Bond driving the DB5, and the villain trying to run him off the road in a stage 3 Escort Cossie.

Gareth,
The fact that you have asked an internet forum to help you decide is worrying mate.
Drive your escort to the show room where the ferrari is. Drive the ferrari as hard as you dare or as hard as the salesman lets you. Go back to the show room, jump straight back in your escort and drive the same roads as you just drove in the Ferrari. Then get out of the escort and answer honestly which one turned you on the most. Whichever one you choose is the one you buy. Simple

Same with the 355 IMHO, some people buy them cause its the ferrari they want, some buy them cause its all they can afford and really they want a F50 or F430 or whatever.
Personally, even if I won the lottery, it would still only be a 355 for me.
