is there any way to clock forward the dials for mileage on the mk6 escort dials? i have new ones that read 90,000 and my real mileage is 58,000 so need it sorted.
thanks

Doesnt the speedo itself come apart from the clocks so you can swap them?

use a pointed screwdriver and just click the numbers down, or you can dissmantle and remove the row of number spindles and remove the end clip that clamps em together and just pull em apart to read what you want then replace into position.

I think his clock will be digital? So all this twisting and drilling is useless! Look in the back of the autotrader mate, there are people in there who can do it for a small fee.

I put a clockset with a rev counter in mine a few months back
Do as follows:
Remove 2 bulbs at the top by twisting them
Pull off the circuitry carefully from the top
Push the 2 black clips in at the bottom
With a small screw driver adjust the milage up or down

Sorry mate wasn't too clear about the black clips
Do all of the above and then for the black clips turn the clockset so the top is on the table/on your lap, you should see the black clips held in by white plastic latches
Push these in and with all the above already done the wohle front perspex case should come off

Get a small flat head screw driver, place it on the number you want to change, with a bit of force then just push the numbers up
I found they went up in about 2-3 numbers at a time

cool, I would do that with my car if I knew how many miles the engine had done!
It reads 43,000 and I have MOT's to show its been round so the shell has done 143,000, but I dont think a petrol 1800 zetec engine can do that many miles without going bang. Although I may be wrong....
