My best mate had his FRS on APT's rollers[anyone whos been on a Dyno Dynamics rolling road will tell you they are very accurate] last week and it made 302bhp at 1.3bar, Thats has quite alot of work done on it to get that power though.
When he had just fitted the new turbo and was still running 1bar it sat quite happily with an Evo 8 FQ 330 in a straight line. Corners i cannot say as he hasn't come up against one on the twisties yet.
A bit different but it did leave a new shape Scooby wrx through a section of corners for dead in the dry. In the wet it wouldnt stand a chance but thats pretty obvious.

the FRS is probably blue, the evo something else.
on a corner, the FRS would be 0.35 secs slower (rolex timing)
on a straight, the evo would go in a straight line.....so would the evo for that matter, hope that helps.

Oh and i forgot to add the same FRS at 250bhp left the same WRX for dead on track aswell. Why people find it so hard to belive that a FWD car can go around corners just as fast and sometimes faster than a 4wd car in the dry?

On my last track day at Snetterton there was an Evo VIII FQ300, it was completely stripped inside apart from carbon seats, carbon door cards and a cage. It was trailered there & running PROPER slicks. Power wise I have no idea if it had been tweeked, given the above mods I would think so. I COMPLETELY doored it on track followed it frustratingly for about 5 laps where I was gaining serious ground on the corners (and backing off considerably) and out of every bend he was pulling a few feet (4WD grip) then on the straights we were DEAD even. Eventually he let me through and it didn't take long to gain alot of ground on him.
Now, obviously 99% of that was down to his driving (quite funny as he trailered it there etc ) but I wouldn't under-estimate how a FRS corners. Mine runs Yoko AO48s, has a proper seat & harnesses and runs usual mods (285BHP on your average non Dyno Dyamics rollers) with a proper air-air intercooler set-up. With the 330BHP conversion and AP 6pots I would expect the FRS to do very well on track. I might find out one day!
On a previous track day I managed to pass a VII and a VIII FQ330.

Hi, Ive currently got a FRS and a Evo 5 at the moment, had a evo 9 340 to. The FRS has suprised me, in the dry it is even with the evo 5. It turns in better, infact its the best car i have ever had that turns in so well. The stright line power is good, but i recon 280 it would be perfect all rounder. As stu says if it was 2 joe bloggs the evo would waste. But if you know how to drive FWD you would be all over a 4wd.Infact I rally fwd and on some stages am quicker than 4wd, and all my road cars for 6yrs have been 4wd!

As many have said..
Without driving a Focus RS, you have no reason to comment on it being a crap handling car due to the FWD.
Saying that.. dependant on what evo... ford will probably still lose as they are immense!

i have both cars that are mentioned ,and i can honestly say the evo around bends whould beat the focus and i thought that the focus was exellent until i bought an evo aswell
as for power in a straight line, if both are moddified i think they are pritty equal
